Senior Developer (Back-end Python)

The German client develops a digital solution for an energy management system (EMS) that can be operated according to the current legal framework in the German energy market. The development of the software core and services is the main scope of work for the Customer. By connecting a variety of IoT Edge devices to the solution platform as well as different energy sources and sinks, like solar panels and charge points for electrical vehicles, it can perform real-time energy management to optimize energy production, consumption, and storing.

At this point, customer’s product is a brand new one and has not yet been released to the market.

We are currently searching for a Senior Back-end Python engineer to become part of the distributed development team on client’s and HMB’s sides and will focus on the — development of new modules as well as further system enhancements.

• End-to-end product development of:
• Data processing services running in cloud and/or on edge devices with limited resources
• Rest API endpoints and connectors to feed and distribute data around business logic
• Participate in the creation of a technical vision for the solution
• Identify areas for process improvement and automation
• Actively contribute to the process from identification of the problems to their solutions
• Cooperate with Product Owner and distributed development team
• Mentor less experienced teammates

• Degree (bachelor or master) in computer science or a comparable course of study
• At least 5 years of experience as software engineer
• 4+ years of Python experience
• Experience with Golang is a great bonus
• Experience with developing and implementing client-side WebSocket solutions
• Experience with Linux, Docker, Azure
• Ability to work in an autonomous fashion on complex technical problems and with large specifications
• Experience working in cross-functional and cross-border teams in Scrum/Agile environments
• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to stakeholders on multiple levels
• English: upper-intermediate / advanced
