Senior Java Developer

Our Customer is start-up based in Berlin, that upcycles batteries from electric vehicles into connected affordable power systems to avert climate change and protect valuable resources — fully embracing the principles of a circular economy. We upcycle 2nd life electric vehicle (EV) batteries to accelerate the transition to renewables and are well positioned to deliver scalable CO2 savings and protect scarce resources. Our business model embraces circular economy principles by ensuring recycling at the end of 2nd life and significantly lowers cost for customers through our battery-as-a-service offering.

Tech Stack: Java

• Develop API Gateway with Java Spring to serve data to web and mobile applications  
• Integrate with several integration points based on REST and GraphQL 
• API Gateway supports multiple communication protocols (mqtt, rest) 
• Work together withArchitect on the Customer side to define REST architecture and develop API solution  
• Cooperate with ProductOwner and distributed development team on mobile app 
• Deliver high quality code and documentation 
• Use software development best practices, considering security and performance 

• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Commercial experience with Spring, integrations with other APIs
• Experience developing APIs based on both REST and GraphQL
• Experience with containers (Docker and Kubernetes) and cloud services (Azure is beneficial)
• Experience integrating with Auth providers (Auth0 in particular) will be a plus
• Experience with automated builds and CI/CD
• Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with stakeholders on multiple levels, proactiveness

• Responsible and loyal, team player
• English: upper-intermediate / advanced
